Archer Magazine is a multi-award-winning publication about sex, gender and identity.
Published twice-yearly in a beautiful, glossy print publication, alongside weekly stories online, Archer platforms human stories from the intersections of LGBTIQA+ communities, publishing real bodies and experiences from marginalised identities, and stunning photography from across the world.
ARCHER MAGAZINE: A HISTORY
Archer Magazine was founded back in 2013 by queer journalist and writer Amy Middleton, with the help of with a small team of volunteers.
Right before Covid hit, Archer was about to start breaking even for the first time. Due to the pandemic’s impact on advertising dollars, arts funding and the economy at large, revenue was down more than 90%, and Archer faced closure.
Drummond Street Services knew the closure of this crucial publication would impact the wellbeing of countless people in marginalised communities, and stepped in to support.
Drummond Street have provided Archer with funding support through its toughest years. Now it’s your turn to help Archer platform the most needed voices in our communities.
HOW COOL IS THIS
01. Archer Magazine is sold in 11 countries worldwide including Australia, USA, England, Belgium, Germany and France
02. Archer has received several awards including a Media Peace Prize from the United Nations, and media awards from The Gender Centre NSW, Thorne Harbour Health, and The Mental Health Service Awards.

04. Archer’s online content is accessed more than 50,000 times per month.

Archer Magazine has published hundreds of voices from intersectional identities including First Nations people, those living with disability and/or chronic illness, young people, older people, those identifying as LGBTIQA+, sex workers and people living in rural or regional areas.
EVENTS
Archer Magazine hosts launch events across Australia and the world, bringing humans from myriad communities together with a strong sense of celebration, pride and safety.
We have held more than 25 launch events in locations including Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Adelaide, New York, San Francisco and London.

Supporting Archer Magazine supports the mental health and wellbeing of LGBTIQA+ people.

We publish stories on queer experience, families, relationships, addiction, homelessness, young people, ageing and sexuality, First Nations experiences of sexuality and colonisation, and more.
Archer shows solidarity, respects individual expression, and represents diverse experiences, bodies and people with celebration and pride.
We reach a hand out to those who need it most.
